Alberta Group plant trees in 34U campaign

Group doubles the number of trees in annual planting

Team members of Alberta Group have planted cypress trees at the National Park in Ta’ Qali as part of the 34U campaign organised by the Ministry for Sustainable Development, the Environment and Climate Change.

The activity kicked off the company’s ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System initiatives for 2014. The company has committed to this annual activity to compensate for part of the impact of gas and particulate emissions from aircrafts during the overseas trips booked for its company’s business trips and to also compensate for a part of the carbon emissions from the company’s fleet.

Alberta doubled the number of trees planted this year on goodwill, increasing the number of trees by more than what would have been the actual figure according to the company’s environmental targets.

Alberta holds the ISO 14001:2004 environmental certification, in addition to its ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management System) certification which have been re-awarded to the company once again last year. The company also implements various other internal measures to reduce its overall environmental impact and has also made headway in its going-paperless campaign at Mriehel Head Office.
