Maltapost wins World Mail Security award
MaltaPost p.l.c.has been awarded the World Mail Security Award during the prestigious 11th World Mail awards held recently in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The World Mail Awards were conceived as a result of discussions at the internationally recognised World Mail & Express Conferences – the unique forum for industry leaders and key decision makers to discuss strategy.
As the industry developed and evolved much debate had been focused on ways of encouraging and publicising best practice within the mail industry worldwide; out of this grew the concept of the World Mail Awards, which were formally launched in 2000. The awards, which are now in their 11th year, are highly respected by the stakeholders in the industry.
The Security Award was aimed at the mail operator, security organization or supplier who, in the view of the panel, has done the most in the past year to assist detection and/or prevention of crime or fraud in the postal process.
MaltaPost’s security program has been designed to ensure that any criminal or fraudulent behaviour is either prevented in the first instance or detected in its earliest stages. This all inclusive program entails extensive ongoing training and investment in new equipment.
These initiatives, coupled with additional improvements in the company’s integrity of mail processes, have resulted in a more secure environment which has also enhanced the public’s awareness and confidence in the system.
The winners were announced at a recent presentation ceremony held in conjunction with the annual World Mail & Express Europe conference where awards are presented by sponsoring organisations.
