BOV in shortlist for Financial Innovation Awards

Bank of Valletta is once again in the final shortlist for the prestigious Financial Innovation Awards.

Competing with leading financial institutions worldwide, all three BOV projects nominated have made it to the final selection.

The Bank's Community Relations Programme was the first of the projects in the shortlist. Through this programme, the Bank manages the distribution of a proportion of its pre-tax profits to the community within which it operates.

The second project nominated relates to the Bank's SME programme, a comprehensive approach to the specific and diverse banking needs of the small and medium enterprise in Malta.

Finally, the third nomination relates to the Bank's staff suggestion scheme, a mechanism dedicated to taking the staff's own suggestions on board in a manner that leaves tangible benefit to the Bank's operations.

This is the fifth time that the Bank has made it to the final stages of the Awards in as many years. The Financial Innovation Awards is one of the most well-established annual awards in the financial services industry. Entries are received from worldwide organisations with finalists chosen following a rigorous selection process. The handful of financial institutions that make it to the finals have the prestige of being distinguished and recognised amongst the best within the industry.

“These awards recognise true innovation in our industry, an industry that has always achieved excellence through novel and unprecedented business ideas. BOV is recognised as an essential pillar of Malta's economy, a driving force in the latest business practice that has helped shape the financial services industry. We are thrilled that our efforts are recognised internationally and worthy of mention at these most prestigious of awards shortlists.” stated Mr Igino Xuereb, Chief Officer Operations at Bank of Valletta.
