ICT courses for business owners launched
The scope of the ICT training project is to instil modern management practices through the use of digital skills
Minister for the economy Chris Cardona launched a series of eBIZ courses, an education project that will help to empower the self-employed and owners of small- and medium-sized businesses in the use of ICT.
Speaking at a press conference in Smart City, Cardona talked about the importance of SMEs in out country and referred to the recent EC report that anticipated that Malta’s SMEs would grow by 1,500 with an increase in 4,000 jobs in 2015.
“From the beginning, this government has worked hard to launch initiatives that will help Maltese businesses in a time of changing demand. We are aware of the challenges and are determined to keep offering our support,” Cardona said.
E-commerce is one such challenge and Cardona said that the government is committed to help businesses change that challenge into opportunity.
The eBIZ project is specifically geared towards educating Maltese business owners in ways ICT can help lower costs and access wider markets.
