by Darren Mercieca
Codenamed “Vega”, the next major version of Dynamics CRM is set to be released in the fourth quarter of this year, this news was revealed in Microsoft’s CRM roadmap earlier in September.
The upcoming release, will comprise of the on-premise version, Dynamics CRM 2015, as well as an update to Dynamics CRM Online to maintain feature-parity between the two. The release will introduce new capabilities while aiming to further bridge the gap between sales and marketing, and to provide a tighter integration with Office 365.
Here at iMovo, we are eager to share with you what we believe are the best highlights that will be soon heading our way.
Marketing Enhancements
The introduction of the ‘Sales Collaboration Panel’, will allow sales people to provide their input and to work closer with marketers on campaigns. Multi-channel campaign management is set to improve segmentation and introduces new marketing tools such as graphical email editing, A/B and split testing and integrated offers. Dynamics Marketing will also feature an ‘Interactive Marketing Calendar’ to provide a graphical view of project timelines, with Lync click-to-call for scheduling and integrating webinars.
Social Listening
The release also introduces the ability to track marketing data from news websites and blogs, in addition to the existing sources such as Facebook and Twitter, in order to effectively analyse sentiment.
More Automation, More Business Rules
The new ‘Calculated Fields’ and ‘Rollup Fields’ will make it easier than ever for business users to capture key business metrics at record level. Typically, these can be used to easily aggregate data over hierarchies, such as the ‘total number of high priority cases belonging to an account’. Business process flows assist users through the various stages of sales, marketing and service; CRM 2015 has further enhanced them to allow branching for more complex scenarios.
CRM Enhancements
Microsoft is making great strides to improving the productivity of sales people, and the efficiency of the processes they work with. The new release will allow products to be bundled into product families, making it easier to provide product suggestions and therefore boost cross-selling and up-selling. New sales hierarchies will also enable sales data to be mapped to the business model, bringing real-time visualisations and forecasts based on territory. CRM 2015 is geared up to make users more productive even on tablet.
When was the last time you were in a meeting and could not add information to CRM using your mobile device because there was no wireless connection? CRM 2015 will allow tablets to be used offline, and will also make available role-tailored dashboards and analytics on tablet.
We hope you are as excited as we are about CRM 2015! These, and many other enhancements and new features will certainly prove to be a leap forward in helping businesses deliver the kind of amazing customer experiences that will help their business thrive.
