Hili ventures announces new Chairman
Steve Tarr succeeds Melo Hili, who will remain as CEO
Hili Ventures has announced the appointment of Steve Tarr as its new Chairman, succeeding Melo Hili, who until now has held the dual post of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
In a statement released this afternoon the company said it hopes that Mr Tarr will “apply his broad business experience to lead the board and set its agenda, and guide directors to all the necessary information to ensure optimal decision-making outcomes.”
As Chief Executive Officer, Mr Hili will spearhead Hili Ventures’ over-arching commercial and professional strategy.
The company has four subsidiaries operating in logistics, engineering and oil and gas support services technology and property management. It also runs multi-site operations with McDonald’s and Apple in 10 countries and employs 3,500 people.
“Steve’s appointment comes at a critical time for Hili Ventures after the substantial growth the group witnessed in 2014,” Mr Hili said. “We envisage group turnover to grow from last year’s €200 million to €300 million. The separation of the leadership roles will ensure we are even more effective in guiding the business and our people to fulfill their potential.”
Mr Tarr is a widely experienced management consultant and sits on several boards in the UK, Malta and Germany. He is a specialist in supporting organisations to effect and manage change and to drive people management. He has delivered bespoke training programmes to thousands of people within organisations of all sizes in more than 30 countries since 1985.
Effective May 11, 2015, the board of Hili Ventures is composed of Steve Tarr (Chairman), Melo Hili (Director and Chief Executive Officer), Richard Abdilla Castillo (Group Finance Director), Doris Danner (Director) and Jesmond Mizzi (Director).
