Electrofix Energy open new €1.5 million premises in Qormi
Electrofix specialises in alternative energy products, industrial mechanical and electrical installations, service station development, and locally-produced domestic and commercial water treatment equipment.
The generation of clean energy is currently topmost on our island’s environmental agenda. As we continue to reduce our reliance on traditional and expensive fossil fuels, newer energy forms are becoming an important consideration for business and homeowners alike.
Facilitating that, local company Electrofix is dedicated to bringing the latest clean energy technology to the market.
The company, which opened in 2000, has grown to become a leader in this sector. It has developed from a one-man-band operating from a garage in Tarxien, to this brand new, 1,600sqm premises in a key location in Qormi, where it employs 51 highly trained personnel. All of this is a huge achievement for the dedicated team running this organisation.
“We are so proud of how far Electrofix has come in 15 years,” says director Debbie Schembri. “Taking over this building and transforming it into a centre for clean energy in Malta has long been our dream, and we are thrilled to have made it a reality. This has been a major investment but we believe it will be worth it.”

Among its extensive recent portfolio of projects, the company’s Clean Energy Department was recently entrusted with the completion of both the first- and second-largest solar photovoltaic (PV) farms in Malta, for Medserv and Attard Brothers respectively. Meanwhile, its Fuel Division provided the equipment for the Fuel Service Station for the Armed Forces of Malta’s Maritime Squad in Haywarf. Other large-scale projects, as well as numerous residential endeavours, are currently in the pipeline.
Speaking at the inauguration, Konrad Mizzi, Minister for Energy and the Conservation of Water, congratulated the team on their recent accomplishments, and said: “Electrofix’s new premises is another success story for Malta. Along with creating economic wealth, companies like Electrofix are helping to reduce the amount of energy we derive from fossil fuels.
“Looking to the future, Malta has strict environmental aims and, in collaboration with the private sector, we will continue working towards them.”
Electrofix’s new premises are now open to the public on Triq il-Burdnara in Qormi. For further information about their products and services, please visit their website www.electrofixenergy.com or call 2167 5353.
