Positive reception for Maltese pavilion at Milan Expo 2015

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat in Milan for Malta Day

Whilst visiting the Maltese pavilion at the Expo in Milan, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said Malta wanted to convince foreigners that the island was the ideal place for tourism but also to attract businesses.

"Malta has a prominent presence in this worldwide exhibition. We are aware that our country is the smallest in the European Union but we also know that our country is experiencing the strongest economic growth amongst the 28 member states," he said, adding that Malta's presence at the expo was to further promote the country's product quality.

The Maltese Pavillion has been serving as an opportunity to showcase Malta as a modern island with a unique identity and rich in human resources.

Accompanying the Prime Minister is a delegation from Trade Malta and Malta Enterprise representatives. The Maltese pavilion, used to establish business contacts, had a positive reception.

Muscat was also presented with a copy of the main EXPO publications which were printed in Malta.

“This is the type of business we want to keep on attracting. We can convince the international community that Malta is an idyllic tourist attraction and also an ideal site for business. From aviation to logistics, from the printing industry to microchip technology. Government is fully committed to further develop other sectors, such as health and education, through new investors who we have the potential to build relationships with," Muscat said.
