Corinthia Hotels hosts New York press breakfast


Luxury brand Corinthia Hotelskept its annual appointment with the American press and travel industry during a breakfast held at the prestigious New York Athletic Club in New York City last October 13.

The event was hosted by Tony Potter, CEO and managing director of CHI Hotels & Resorts, the exclusive operator of Corinthia Hotels worldwide, who talked about new developments at Corinthia Hotels, including more details about the Corinthia Hotel London, scheduled for an early 2011 opening.    

Joining Tony Potter at the Corinthia Hotels press event were Saviour F. Borg, ambassador and permanent representative of Malta to the United Nations;  Alexandra Pisani, daughter of Alfred Pisani, founder and chairman of the Malta based Corinthia Group and Stefania Cappello, daughter of Joe Cappello, CEO of Air Malta.

Potter also took the occasion to announce the 2010 honorees of the 13th edition of the annual World Tourism Award which will be presented on 8th November at World Travel Market in London, England.The World Tourism Award, inaugurated in 1997, was established to recognise “the extraordinary initiatives by individuals, companies, organisations, destinations and attractions for outstanding accomplishments in the travel industry.”  

This year’s honorees, who are being awarded for their dedication to sustainable tourism and the preservation of natural and cultural heritage, are The Travel Foundation in the UK, Royal Caribbean Cruises’ Ocean Fund and the Museum for African Art, (New York City). Corinthia Hotels, together with American Express, International Herald Tribune and Reed Travel Exhibitions, co-sponsor this prestigious Award.
