Delegates from ElectroGas Malta were in London last week to receive an award at the prestigious IJ Global awards, held at the Natural History Museum.

The IJGlobal Awards recognize excellence, achievement and innovation in energy and infrastructure projects across the globe.

On winning the award for Best European Power Project of the year, ElectroGas Malta’s CEO Franz Doefler said: “It’s an honour for us and for Malta to receive such prestigious international recognition for our ability to deliver and fulfill our obligations to the nation.”

In 2014 ElectroGas Malta won the bid to build and operate a power plant using Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to generate electricity. The project aims to enhance Malta’s power generation with high efficiency CCGT power plant that will reduce emissions by half and particulate matter by 90%.
