Palumbo Malta Shipyard to hold open day on 29th May
Special guests will include Ira Losco and Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja.
On the 6th anniversary of its operations in Malta, Palumbo Malta Shipyard Ltd., which boasts its reputation as “one of the best shipyards in Europe”, will open its doors to the general public as a way of expressing appreciation towards the people who have contributed, in many ways, to reaching the success it is currently enjoying.
Since June 2010, the Maltese branch of the Italian Palumbo Group has been at the top of its sector contributing a great deal towards the maintenance, conversion and refitting in the merchant shipping and also Passenger RoRo and cruise vessels. The shipyard was also busy in the Oil and Gas refitting sector with accommodating more than 10 rigs so far.
Since November 2014, the yard has also been officially accredited from the GTT for repairs in the cargo tanks membrane type of LNG carriers. The acquisition of this shipyard, which caters for ships of over 300,000 tons, has proven to be a prestigious project for the Group, since it has significantly shaped the Company's future thanks to its position in the heart of the Mediterranean.
An open day event will take place on Sunday 29th May from 10:00 till 20:30 at the Palumbo Malta Shipyard in Paola, entrance from Ghajn Dwieli road, the main gate is located further down from the petrol service station and second turn on the left.
The site will be transformed into a family friendly premises with entertainment for all. The day’s itinerary is jam packed of activities ranging from go karting to a mega slide, bouncy castle, magic show, clown show and magic train, all of which will be free. Among the events held throughout the day, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will hold a concert at 18:00.
