Vodafone Malta launches third Corporate Responsibility Report

Vodafone Malta launched its third Corporate Responsibility Report and its first audited report.

Data related to energy efficiency and employee contribution to charity schemes contained in the report which covers the period between April 1, 2008 and March 31, 2010 was audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers, Malta. This is the first time that Vodafone Malta’s CSR Report was audited.

The report focuses on different issues and tackles how the company deals with its customers, its employees and its suppliers. The report focuses also on Vodafone Malta’s contribution to cleaner energy and the Maltese economy and community at large.

Outgoing CEO Inaki Berroeta stated that Vodafone Malta is committed to being a responsible and sustainable business since the company believes that in this manner it can contribute to economic growth and stability. “Vodafone Malta continuously promotes working methods that give greater flexibility and mobility so that our team reaches a proper work-life balance. The same ambition is what drives us to provide our customers with innovative products and services that enable them to create new business opportunities while bringing communities together,” commented Inaki Berroeta.

Vodafone Malta is also committed to providing an important contribution to a better environment as clearly stated out in the company’s CSR Report In the past two years the company has pro-actively reduced its carbon footprint through a decrease in work related flights and overall energy consumption. Moreover Vodafone Malta is promoting further environmental-friendly procedures such as working in a paperless office, reuse and recycling e-billing and responsible disposing of electronic equipment waste.

The CSR Report was presented to the President of Malta George Abela, by outgoing Vodafone Malta CEO Inaki Berroeta, together with the company’s new CEO Balesh Sharma.
