The Malta Institute of Accountants renews the JES agreement with ACCA

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA) are proud to announce the renewal of the Joint Examination Schemes (JES) and signing of a new partnership agreement.

ACCA and MIA have JES covering both the ACCA Qualification and ACCA’s Foundations in Accountancy suite of qualifications.

Through the JES, ACCA and MIA deliver globally accepted qualifications with local recognition and relevance. Students that complete the ACCA JES in Malta are able to satisfy the exam criteria for membership of both bodies simultaneously.

Leo Lee, deputy president of ACCA and Franco Azzopardi, President of MIA met in Malta on 8 March to renew the JES for a further five years until 2022, and to sign an enhanced partnership agreement between the two bodies.

"Our agreement with the ACCA provides Maltese professional accountants with business-relevant, first-choice qualifications that serve as the base-line of a higher calibre for a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management," said Franco Azzopardi. “From being an examining body for several decades to partnering with ACCA, the objectives of the MIA remain that of attracting talented individuals to the profession, offering them a qualification route and eventually get them on board as Members.”
