Frank V. Farrugia elected Malta Chamber President
New Chamber president said he looked forward to working with all members, boards and committees to bring about the necessary changes that would result in greater competitiveness for the country
Frank V. Farrugia has been elected President of the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise for the next two years, promising to maintain the Chamber’s leading role in the representation of business.
Farrugia was Deputy President of the Malta Chamber since 2015 and held the post of Vice President for the preceding two years.
He said that he looked forward to working with all members, boards and committees of the Chamber in order to bring about the necessary changes that would result in greater competitiveness for the country.
Farrugia joined the Malta Chamber of Commerce in 1976 and has served in virtually all positions. Apart from Deputy President and Vice President, he also served as Honorary Treasurer in 2001 and Honorary Secretary in 2002/3.
He was a member of the ethics, import levies, VAT and taxation committees; Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary of the Manufacturers and Exporters Trade Section; Member of the Commission Agents Screening Commission and Chairman of its Trade Section, Chairman of the Importers Trade Section, and founding member of the Maltese American Chamber of Commerce.
Farrugia also formed part of various committees on behalf of the Chamber. He served as a member of the Malta Standard Authority and was a founding member of the Libyan-Maltese Chamber of Commerce.
He is currently serving as Chairman of the SME Committee within the Chamber and is the Chamber representative on the board of Conservatorio Vincenzo Bugeja and Director on the board of Employment and Industrial Relations, Jobs Plus, Trade Malta and Malta Enterprise and member of MCESD.
Farrugia is the owner and managing director of Alphacom Int. Services Co Ltd and Alcom Enterprises Co Ltd.
