Conrad Borg appointed Spiteri Bailey & Co’s new partner

Auditing firm Spiteri Bailey & Co has announced the appointment Conrad Borg as its new partner as from the 1 January 2011, alongside existing partners William Spiteri Bailey and Karen Spiteri Bailey.

In a statement, the auditing company said that Borg, who joined the firm as a senior audit manager in 2007, is a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants and of the Malta Institute of Accountants.

The appointment follows that of William Spiteri Bailey as Enemalta’s acting-chairman as from 1 January, replacing Edmund Gatt Baldacchino who was appointed on 1 June. Like Gatt Baldacchino, Spiteri Bailey is occupying the post until a replacement for the former Enemalta chairman Alex Tranter is found.

During the year 2006, he obtained a Diploma in International Financial Reporting organized by the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants, the firm said. “His areas of specialization are financial audits, financial reporting and the application of various software that assist the offices to become more and more paperless.”

Besides being in charge of various audits, Mr Borg is now in charge of audit quality assurance, technical updates and staff training,” the company said.
