‘International household name’ in gaming set to relocate to Malta

The Malta Gaming Authority has registered a 79% increase in new license applications, with a 33% increase in new licenses during the first four months of 2017, when compared to the same period the previous year.

During a press conference in Paola, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat welcomed the news, adding that more good news was in the pipeline.

Refraining from divulging any specific details, the Labour leader said that the gaming sector in Malta remained strong, with a new international company planning to relocate to Malta.

According to Muscat, an application to this end was recently submitted with the Gaming Authority.

“One of three gaming companies, which is an international household name, has already filed an application to relocate to Malta,” Muscat said.
