New multi-million investment for Supermarket group

Shopwise Development Group is to invest €10 million on the opening of two new supermarkets in the North of Malta over the next three years, director Raymond Mintoff announced.

He made his comment as the group launched www.maltasupermarket.com an online supermarket which features more than 11,000 products. He said deliveries would be made on the same day for orders placed before Noon.

The company was congratulated by Finance Minister Tonio Fenech, who underlined the potential of online business even in the domestic market.

The site was developed by Cyberspace Solutions.

Shopwise said this was a €350,000 project that had created 20 new jobs.

The group currently employs 200 persons.
