Tokyo's stock market plunges
Japan's benchmark Nikkei average (.N225) closed at 9,620.49 on Monday, representing a drop of 6.18%.
Meanwhile, the broader Topix (.TOPX) dropped 7.49 percent, down to 846.96.
The market plunge is no doubt related to investor fears that the country is in for hard times following a quake that shook the island, prompting a massive tidal wave that swept the coastline inland and threw the Fukushima nuclear power plant into a critical state.
