ICT students to exhibit work to the public
70 Works for University’s ICT Final Year Projects Exhibition 2013
Final year students following the ICT undergraduate course at the University will be exhibiting their work on Friday 12 July.
The exhibition is open to the public and will be showcasing around 70 projects related to various aspects of ICT, both applied and theoretical.
The projects represent various fields of study - from microelectronics, embedded systems and computer engineering to computing science, software development and artificial intelligence.
The spread of project domains being displayed in this year's exhibition includes work in the areas of entertainment, graphics, communication, transport and routing, microchip design, system verification and modeling, security, data management and cloud-based technology, and assistive and social technologies.
This year's works also include a few cross-disciplinary projects in such fields as astronomy, health, and biometrics. Many of this year's projects embrace a mobile perspective with quite a few solutions being implemented on mobile devices such as smart-phones and tablets.
A number of companies will be offering awards for the exhibited projects based on various criteria.
The exhibition is being held on Friday 12 July between 5 and 8 pm at the old Computing Building, accessible from Car Park 2, next to the Campus Library.
The event will be opened by Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Stefan Buontempo.
The faculty is also holding a seminar for prospective students on 12 July at 4.30 pm, at the Science Lecture Theatre. Seminar attendees will be given a tour of the exhibited projects.
