The problem is universal, Power Corrupts. One cannot but think back and remember the good Gadaffi did for his people but then 40 years at the helm and the crown passed on in the family is a sure sign of a corrupt dictatorship. One cannot include me as a fan of gonzi but on this issue he has to be careful how he speaks and how he acts, this also includes Joseph Muscat. The funny thing about all of this is that gonzia is the leader of gonziPN/PN the party that declared that Malta's neutrality is defunct and now he is playing the Neutrality game. Of courde should the EU act he would tow the line accordingly like a pocket poodle. This is a lesson for the Maltese, 20 years of a government made up of the same scroungers is too much. In fact I propose that all political parties should include in their statute that a party leader should not stay on for more than 10 years, that is, 2 legislatures

To an extent, I agree with Mr Balzan and to another extent, I agree with Mr Martin Borg. It's easy to sit on a fence without national responsibilities as Mr Balzan does. Do not get me wrong: I agree with Balzan, but only in principle. Gaddafi can make life a misery for our country.

It is easy for you to talk liberally than most politicians can. It is the norm to have good relations with everybody desipte the type of government running the country, it is up to local people to settle their own affairs and for governments of a small nation like Maaalta do not have the luxury or the muscle to speak their minds. You might be right in what you said but your speech would have been better directed to countries like England, Italy, Germany etc etc unfortunately for all the big talk in maltese politics we still have to realise that we are a miniscule nation depending on the whims of others. It is easirer outside looking in than inside looking out.
