[WATCH] Saviour Balzan’s videoblog: local councils and immigration
Saviour Balzan says that decrease in PL support in local councils due to government insulting people's intelligence, warns that immigration problem is a reflection of poverty and civil wars in sub-Saharan African countries.
The reduction in Labour voters when compared to the 2012 round of local council elections is significant, and not due to people feeling abandoned by the government as Joseph Muscat has claimed.
“Those Labourites are fed up with how the government is insulting their intelligence,” Balzan said. “The government must understand that not everybody is feeling this purchasing power that it is going on about, and that people are feeling disgruntled at the amount of people being given favourable positions that they don’t deserve.”
In other news, the Mediterranean migration crisis is a reflection of the poverty and civil wars in sub-Saharan African countries. “Politicians can say what they like, but the African problem is not going away and we need to find a long-term solution to it.”
