Depending on the government of the day, people of one political colour are gratified and those of the rival colour brushed aside
In his latest videoblog, Saviour Balzan speaks about how hypocrisy has remained a constant feature of the Maltese political scene since the first edition of MaltaToday was published 16 years ago.
“Governments come and go, and while they differ in their management styles, one doesn’t need too dig too deeply to realize that certain things never change,” he says. “Depending on the government of the day, people of one political colour are gratified and those of the rival colour brushed aside.
“The media has a crucial role to play in ensuring that people in public positions of responsibility are not employed because of their political colours, but because of their competence in the field.”
