What to Post on Social Media
Businesses sometimes struggle to find relevant posts to update their social media profiles like Facebook and Twitter. Some businesses do not know what to post and think that topics will eventually run out.
A business nowadays needs to create content and reuse content in an intelligent way to contribute for social media and search engine optimisation (SEO). In this manner, you will have endless opportunities and topics to post about.
A great way to generate content is by having a blog on your website. A blog creates several opportunities and facilitates content creation. It also helps in creating a community while attracting an audience from a different perspective; all this is done without any direct advertising or promotion. Still, the content you create must be relevant and innovative to your industry. This means that you are creating an audience that is constantly getting updates from your social media profiles. When a new social update is posted for a new blog post, an interested user will proceed to read the article on the blog.
Inspiration for writing new content can be challenging. A good way to keep updated with what is happening within the industry is by subscribing to RSS feeds from other relevant industry websites. The RSS feed will automatically update themselves when a new story is launched on that website. This can help you organise and ease the way you need to keep yourself updated. Within an RSS reader you can then easily go through story headlines and read only the stories you find interesting. Google Reader is one of the RSS readers you can choose from the many that are available. Alternatively, if your business does not have any resources to create content, you can decide to outsource your content writing to an internet marketing company where they can manage everything for you.
Reusing content can be a great way to create content for social updates. Images, videos, brochures, and data can all be great material to be used to create content. Sometimes you may have to adapt the content to fit that particular audience or social profile. However, you may have great material that you may be missing out.
What to keep in mind
Remember that original content, that you write works better. To some extent, you can adapt other content and build upon still original content works much better. Also, posting only images is not enough, since search engines will require some text since they will not read text inside images. If a particular story has lot of images such as a research with charts, a good idea is to accompany the images with some text. A few sentences to describe into further detail the images will help users and SEO. Social networking websites also provides the opportunity of creating a community that will help you build up your brand and become an alternative way to drive traffic. Having an audience on a social network will drive traffic to your website and become another marketing channel. In this way, you will not be completely dependent from one traffic channel such as Google.
Social Media helps from multiple aspects, namely, by building up your brand, by creating a community, by serving as an alternative source of traffic and also, by helping your SEO. Social signals now have a strong role in SEO rankings. Social shares, Likes and engagement on social networks will have a good impact on SEO rankings.
