Refuelling of LNG floating storage unit complete
The refuelling process started on Wednesday following the arrival of LNG tanker, GALEA
The refuelling of the Floating Storage Unit (FSU) that will be supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the newly built power station has been completed and LNG has started being transferred to shore in order to start cooling the power station.
On Wednesday, the LNG tanker GALEA arrived in Malta carrying the first consignment of LNG, with refuelling of the LNG Armada Mediterrana (the FSU) starting immediately upon its arrival.
Minister without portfolio Konrad Mizzi tweeted the news on Sunday afternoon.
The new power station expected to be fully operational in the coming weeks.
