Zeri's | Summer dining in luxury
As summer draws in, dining out becomes more of the norm, though no less of a treat as friends make up excuses to meet up to make the most of the warm summer evenings.
Portomaso in St Julian’s offers the perfect venue, against a backdrop of super yachts and sea views, what better way to while away an evening or two over a wine-soaked meal of fresh fish?
Zeri’s chef patron, Mark Zerafa, started his restaurant in small location in Paceville and quickly made a name for himself by offering consistently fabulous dishes using the freshest ingredients on the island. He soon re-located to the stunning Portomaso to complement his food with fantastic views for the perfect dining experience.
The wine list includes a range of wines from all over the world with good bottles selling for around €20 a bottle, and more expensive wines at €50 a bottle, for the more discerning wine drinker.
Though Zeri’s is known for serving fantastic fresh fish, the menu is not limited. A specials menu is also available, featuring a selection of dishes from soups to pastas, seafood and fish as well as meats.
Just like the specials menu, the main menu offers a number of tried and tested dishes which have been proven to be favourites among diners. Succulent meats – fillet with a white truffle sauce, duck and lamb – complete the menu if you’re not in a fishy kind of mood.
For those trying to keep the meal light, Zeri’s offers some interesting salads that will not take away from the superior dining experience. Poached pears marinated in red wine with gorgonzola or a teriyaki beef salad are not your average lettuce and tomato salad.
The dessert menu is made up of traditional favourites, along with more original desserts – pears, poached in red wine served with ice-cream.
A few liqueurs always aid the digestion of a good meal and if you are feeling energetic, why not take a walk around the marina to check out the stupendous yachts and enjoy the night air?
