The Medina Restaurant | Tradition with a trendy twist
Nestled in the honey-combed streets of Mdina , The Medina restaurant, neatly tucked away in a magnificent Norman residence, has been delighting locals and tourists alike for some 30 years.
Dine in a truly romantic setting, underneath the flowering oleander tree, in the vine-clustered courtyard on traditional Mediterranean cuisine, trendily adapted with Asian influences. Feast on a vast selection of dishes to commence, to enhance, to continue and to conclude.
The concept of cuisine that at The Medina is ‘Mediterranean cuisine moderne’, where regional classical dishes are adapted, cooked and presented in a modern and healthier style which is demanded by today’s healthy eating lifestyle. The menu – devised by executive chef James Attard and his brigade – is a testament to this concept. Ingredients used are always the freshest of seasonal local produce from ‘land and sea’, bringing out the true and natural flavours of the food.
The presentation of the food is the focal point, where the chef’s passion for cooking is reflected on the attention to detail of his creations.
Originality of the dishes comes from mixing tastes and textures. Hot items are mixed with cold ones and sweet and salty items are mixed together. Indulge in trio of smoked fish with sour notes from the lime sorbet, sweet influences from the raisin dressing and the salty fish flavours, for an explosion of tastes.
Traditionally, Maltese cuisine is also available, using recipes the chef obtained from his own grandmother.
The wine list offers something for everybody with wines from all over the world ranging in price from €8.00 to €65.00.
La Medina is open from Monday to Saturday from 19:00 to 23:00
