Snuggled in the heart of Mellieha, in one of the last remaining townhouses, is Giuseppi’s, an authentic Mediterranean restaurant serving only the best Mediterranean fare.

As soon as you set foot inside you are instantly greeted with warmth and hospitality. The earthy toned walls, stone slab floors, candlelight and homely aromas wafting from the kitchen promise a fantastic meal ahead.
Ever since the restaurant opened 25 years ago, they have had a number of loyal followers that go there for the friendly atmosphere as well as the magnificent food as it feels like a home away from home and the most difficult part of the entire meal is leaving the restaurant.
Chef patron Michael Diacono, comes from a family where food is at the centre of every occasion and this passion rubs off on his restaurant. And when he's not at work cooking for diners he's at home cooking for family or friends.
His love of food is evident in the sumptuous dishes he prepares using the best local ingredients. Over the last 25 years he has taken his time sourcing ingredients from all over the island, looking for those subtle differences that turn a good meal into a great one.
Though long-standing favourites are always on the menu, there are always some innovative dishes, like monk-fish liver or rabbit in chocolate sauce.
The menu is short to ensure that everything is fresh however the selection is vast. Deep fried goat's cheese served with fresh salad leaves and a tomato concasse, fresh shell-fish and impressive meat dishes are served with moreish roast potatoes that taste like grandma made them.
The desserts are just as good as the mains, with the best crème brulee on the island that has the perfect ratio of cream to burnt sugar. Or try Giuseppi's take on traditional home-made imqaret.
Perhaps the greatest thing about Giuseppi's is the consistency. Every client, every single day is treated as though they are the first client on the first day of work. On an island where restaurants come and go and standards rise and fall you can always count on Giuseppi's for a truly delightful meal of Mediterranean flavours, good wine and most likely a hangover the following day.
Guiseppi's is open from Monday to Saturday for dinner from 19:30 till 22:30.
