‘Fiori e Colori’ theme for Del Borgo anniversary party

Since its inception in 2005 Del Borgo hosts an anniversary party for regular customers. This year’s event proved to be one of the biggest ever, with guests overflowing into St Dominic Street and the alleyways outside.

Del Borgo teamed up with Attard & Co, who provided the top class Michele Chiarlo wines from Piemonte, Italy. These included Nivole, a sweet sparkling Moscato D’Asti, Le Marne, a white Gavi, and Le Orme, a red Barbera d’Asti (www.chiarlo.it).

The kitchen brigade at Del Borgo produced a spread of cold cuts and cheeses to accompany the wines, followed by ice-cream.

The two Del Borgo directors, Alan Mercieca Bons and Ingrid Dalli, paid tribute to all those who supported the event, namely Attard and Co, David Vella, and AF Sign studio, their staff and even their tolerant neighbours, with whom they have developed such a good relationship over the past five years.

“Five years in quite a milestone in our industry,” Mr Mercieca Bons said. “The whole nature of our business and Birgu as a venue for leisure and entertainment has changed. More wine bars have opened and the number of outlets, including those at the Vittoriosa Waterfront, have attracted more people to the area.” And, added Ms Dalli: “The challenge continues to be to innovate and to keep in touch with what our loyal clientele want and aspire to.”
