Yoga classes designed just for him
Yoga classes designed specifically for men to start from 6 September at Lily Aguis Gallery in Sliema.
Men's and women's bodies are designed very differently and most men who attend a mixed class try to force and push themselves into postures to equate to the women in class who naturally have more flexible bodies. There is by far, no comparison nor competition. For the first time in Malta, a yoga course is being run specially designed for men so that their specific needs can be targeted - hips, hamstrings, shoulders and spine in particularly alongside some meditation to find some head space.
The course is run by Anchelique and Michelle Bartolo, both of who run successful yoga practices for both men and women.
"Over the years I have seen many students come and go. Most of these are women and the few men that do join retreat to the back of the class. This course is aimed at men who want to feel the benefits of yoga without feeling outdone by their female counterparts" Bartolo said.
Classes are taught at beginner level so that a solid foundation from which to progress can be developed. The classes last 75 minutes and will be held at Lily Aguis Gallery, 54, Cathedral Street, Sliema from 6:30pm to 7:45pm every Friday, starting from 6 September. Booking is recommended as space is limited.
