Mental health services' board of directors holds its first meeting
Board of directors’ role is to advise Health Minister on services offered to mental health sufferers
A board of directors for Mental Health Services has held its first meeting. The board, headed by Jan Chircop, brings together stakeholders working in mental health. It includes medical professionals and NGOs.
The board will include organisations that support carers and patients, depending on the subject being discussed.
Health Minister Chris Fearne addressed the first meeting of the board. He said that board would be pivotal in giving mental health care in Malta a push.
The board has been tasked with advising the minister on “a new vision” for mental health services as well as the services offered.
The board will also oversee the governance of services offered.
