ROCS Travel supports H.E. the President George Abela’s missionary work in Peru

Addressing a news conference in the morning of Friday 13^th April 2012, President Abela called on the general public to give a helping hand and join this mission. Indeed, he encouraged citizens from different professions such as construction workers, health professionals, and teachers to join this cause.

H.E. The President George Abela stressed that this is a working holiday where the volunteers will build bathrooms and finish and furnish two child centres, among other work throughout their stay in Peru.

In fact he stated, "We are going there to work. We will be building a better future - for the people in Peru but also for the volunteers themselves". From the very first day as Head of State of Malta, he had always dreamt of carrying out missionary work in a poor country. In addition, during his visit, H.E.The President George Abela will also show his appreciation for the work MSSP has been carrying out in Peru for more than 40 years which, as Fr Louis Mallia explained, is a "marvellous but tough experience".

Such a mission is heavily sponsored by none other than the established, family-run company, ROCS travel, who are offering the entire package at the cost of €1,500. However those aged between 18 and 30 who are not in full-time employment will pay a subsidized rate of €750. This price includes return flights with Emirates Airlines, accommodation, meals, and all taxes and charges for the entire stay at the MSSP convent in Peru.

Rachel Vella, Director of ROCS travel, stated "it is truly an honour to help out for such a good cause. Having seen pain and misery by means of guests from the program  Tista' Tkun Int, I know for a fact that it is a suffering that is hard to endure and by means of such a sponsorship, the group plans to alleviate the pressure and monetary weight of such an inspiring mission".

With the intention of aiding and promoting such a good cause, ROCS travel have also set up a stand dedicated to this missionary work at the AMITEX Holiday Show 2012 which was held this weekend, from the 19^th till the 22^nd April at the MFCC, ta' Qali.
