Malta International Airport launches new website
The airport's new website promises a user friendly interface and a host of new features
Airport guests can now plan their trips better thanks to Malta International Airport's newly-unveiled website, which provides a host of innovative functions including the possibility to bookmark a flight and find an ideal connection to a desired destination. This new website is expected to give guests an excellent experience that extends beyond the airport terminal.
During several months of website development, the team focused on perfecting a design that is both user-friendly and visually appealing. This combination is geared towards providing an optimum online experience that encourages full use of all of the site’s functions ranging from the possibility to create a homepage view of flight status and useful information to calculating parking fees. The crisp design also reflects Malta International Airport's evolving brand identity.
With more than half of its traffic originating from hand-held devices, the redesigned website www.maltairport.com is fully responsive to mobiles and tablets, facilitating on-the-go access. Considering that 75% of users are returning visitors, the website’s ability to present content according to a visitor’s usage behaviour is possibly one of the most practical and innovative features.
The website is also home to the island's only national weather service through MIA's MET Office. Locals, mariners, and tourists can now explore a 7-day forecast for Malta, giving visitors more foresight to the week ahead.
"As part of our ongoing mission to upgrade our passenger experience and become the best airport in Europe, it was crucial for us to have a more modern and functional website. We are confident that this site will contribute significantly towards an enhanced digital experience for our guests with more dynamic content than ever before," said MIA CEO Alan Borg, adding that the company was looking forward to customer feedback that could make the site even better.
Malta International Airport is also actively promoting Malta through its website with a new blog and a Visit Malta sectionm which will be continuously updated to provide users with fresh and relevant information.
To celebrate the launch of this new website, Malta International Airport will be giving website visitors who subscribe to the airport’s newsletter throughout April and May the chance of winning an all-inclusive trip to Berlin. To find out more visit www.maltairport.com.
