Air Malta announces zero baggage fees for customers
Air Malta has announced that in response to a competing airline flying to Malta’s announcement of a reduction in baggage fees, the National Airline continues to offer its guests a free allowance of one piece 20kgs baggage and 10kg hand luggage to all its customers.
“The Maltese airline prides itself on always offering free bag allowance even on its lowest ‘Simply Fly’ product. Despite this reduction announced today, a passenger travelling between Milan and Malta carrying a 20kg bag will still be charged €50 return by this low - cost carrier,” a statement by the airline reads.
It pointed out that when travelling on flights over 3 hours to/from Malta (including UK destinations) passengers travelling on this competitor airline will still be charged €100 for checked-in luggage on a return flight.
The airline adds that there are no such fees for Air Malta ’s guests travelling to/from any destination and that its Business Class guests are given a free allowance of two pieces of hand luggage for a total weight of 15kgs and up to two pieces of hold baggage allowance (maximum 64kgs) for its ‘Business Anytime’ customers.
