Youth arrested in Birgu drug find

A 23-year-old man who resides in Birgu was arrested by the police’s drug squad after he was found in possession of substances suspected of being cocaine and heroin.

Police said that the young man was arrested in St Lawrence Street, Birgu on Sunday afternoon.

A search in the man’s car yielded a considerable number of packets containing the drugs ready to be trafficked.

Police said the drug squad had been following the man’s movements for a number of days.

The youth is being held at the Floriana lock- up, with police investigations ongoing.
