Young man dies after gas leak

A 19-year-old man has died after a gas leak at a Qormi apartment, the police have said.  

The incident happened at around 4:30 pm in Santa Katerina Street, Qormi.  

Police said the young man lost consciousness after gas leaked from a heater.  

A medical team administered first-aid, but the man died shortly after at Mater Dei Hospital.  

Duty magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras has launched an inquiry into the case. Police investigations are ongoing.
