The police have arrested a man suspected to have stabbed and injured an MMDNA nurse in Qormi yesterday afternoon.
The man was traced down at a farm this morning after an intensive search overnight.
The MMDNA nurse is in a critical condition after she was stabbed yesterday.
Sources said that the nurse was accomapnied by another colleague at the time of the incident, but was not hurt.
The witness called for help and the woman was found to be semi-conscious and bleeding profusely from her stomach.
Homicide Department chief Inspector Keith Arnaud together with CID investigators were on site, and launched a manhunt for the aggressor, who is said to have been involved in another stabbing case.
Magistrate Ian Farrugia is conducting an inquiry.

Here we go again. This time instead of a gun the man used a knife. What is going on all of a sudden. Does the suspended sentences have anything to do with all the crime going on in Malta? Which Political Party is going to step up and tell us what their plans are to stop these crimes? This is getting out of hand. Sometimes I think we worry more about birds and dogs than we worry about human beings. Pathetic.
