Parents charged with drug trafficking, father found injecting heroin into his face
A father appeared in court with a large patch covering his left cheek, after he was surprised by police while injecting heroin into his face.
A Court presided by Magistrate Antonio Mizzi this morning heard how father of two Kevin Caruana of Qormi, was surprised by Police while injecting heroin into his face.
He appeared in court with a medical patch to his left cheek, after the needle reportedly caused him injury. According to the Police, Caruana doesn't have any more veins where to inject himself with heroin, after exhausting all arteries in his arms, legs, neck and genitals.
He was charged together with his wife Antoinette with trafficking in heroin. The wife appeared in court with very swollen eyes.
Both pleaded not guilty to the charges and were remanded in custody.
Lawyers Michael and Lucio Sciriha appeared for the Aquilina's, while Inspector Nikolai Sant from the Drugs Squad led the prosecution.
