Pistol and silencer seized by Police, as man is arrested over death threats to woman

A pistol and a silencer have been elevated from a house belonging to a suspect, who was arrested in connection to an investigation on death threats made to a woman.

The man, identified as Dione Xuereb, 51 of Swieqi, is expected to be arraigned on Sunday before Magistrate Edwina Grima, charged with the illegal possession of the firearm and silencer, and for threatening his former partner and mother of his children.

Xuereb, who has a history of convictions for violence, is being held in custody.
