Fined €4,300 for reckless driving at wheel of unlicensed car

A 25 year-old man was fined €4,300 and had his driving licence suspended for one year for driving recklessly, causing a major car accident and driving without a licence.

James Griffiths, 25 of Ghaxaq was fined €4,300 and banned from driving for a year by Magistrate Carol Peralta, for having caused a major traffic accident on Tal-Barrani Road in August 2008.

Griffiths was driving an unlicensed vehicle and without insurance cover at excessive speed, lost control at a junction smashed into a car, and careered onto the opposite carriageway, smashing into another car in the process.

The accident happend on Tal-Barrani Road, limits of Zejtun on 22 August 2008.
