Suspect in custody files second judicial protest as livestock dies due to denied access to farm
A man currently being held under preventative arrest for allegedly trafficking in cocaine, has filed a second judicial protest against the prisons director for not allowing him to feed them.
Angelo Bilocca, 34 of Siggiewi who on October 5 was charged together with his partner Priscilla Cassar for possession and trafficking in cocaine, had obtained permission from the courts to feed his livestock under escort.
Three days ago, Bilocca complained that despite the Court's recommendation to the prisons director to allow him to feed his animals, some 280 chickens, three pigs and 17 rabbits had died. He said his family members did not know what they had to do to keep them alive.
While claiming that he said there was no reason to deny him permission to be taken to the farms under escort to take care of the animals and held the prison authorities responsible for the damage he suffered.
In his second judicial protest filed this morning, Bilocca claimed that the prisons director's intransigence is continuing to destroy his livestock.
He said that another 480 cocks had died, causing him irreparable damage and financial distress.
He said he was holding the prisons director responsible for all damages.
