Police find shotgun cartridge near car after a formal report was filed at 8am

The Police is currently investigating a shootout that took place last night in Marsaxlokk.

According to inewsmalta.com, the target of the shooting was a Peugeot 607 parked in Triq il-Luzzu. The incident happened at around 3am. Members of the Police Corps are currently on site carrying out their investigation.

At least two shots were fired in the direction of the car, one hitting the windscreen and another hitting the bumper. A shotgun cartridge was found on the road near the car indicating that the weapon used was a hunting gun.

In a statement, the Police said that a formal report was filed about the incident at around 8am. The owner of the car is a 22-year-old man from Marsaxlokk. No one was in the car at the time of the incident.
