Hit and run in Birkirkara

A hit and run accident occurred at 6am this morning in Naxxar Road, Birkikara.

The victim is an 84-year-old male, resident of Birkirkara. It appears that the man was hit by an as yet unknown vehicle whilst attempting to cross the road.

On being transported to Mater Dei by ambulance, the man was certified to be suffering from serious injuries, but is not in danger of losing his life.

Efforts are being made by the police in order to track down the vehicle involved in this case.

This is the second octogenarian to be hit by a car today.
