Gozo ministry official handed suspended jail term, interdicted for life
Mario Camilleri, 37 of Munxar, once an official within the secretariat of the Ministry for Gozo, was this morning handed a 15 month jail term, suspended for two years, and given a general and perpetual interdiction.
Magistrate Josette Demicoli, presiding over the Gozo Courts, this morning handed a 15 month jail term, suspended for two years and a general interdiction to Mario Camilleri, 37 of Munxar, who was found guilty of forging a school leaving certificate for a person to be able to qualify for the job of Principal Security Officer at the Gozo General Hospital.
Camilleri, who was also a PN Councillor in Munxar, committed the crime while he was an official at Minister Giovanna Debono's secretariat in 2006.
The Courts found him guilty of all charges.
