Masked hunters arraigned in court
One of the two hunters caught hunting illegally in Mellieha pleads guilty.
27-year-old Chris Gauci, of Mellieha, this morning pleaded guilty of having hunted illegally at the Foresta 2000 nature reserve in Mellieha.
Gauci, together with Carl Borg, 30 of Mellieha, were caught hunting at the nature reserve. The charges included being in possession of loaded shotguns and being hooded.
The sentence against Gauci, also accused of being a relapser, will be handed down tomorrow.
On his part, Carl Borg pleaded not guilty.
Both men, arrested on Thursday by members of the Administrative and Law Enforcement (ALE), were remanded in custody.
The prosecution was led by Police Inspector Ramon Mercieca.
