Updated | Coach carrying children involved in collision with truck

Children were said to have been injured after a coach collided with truck on the narrow hill leading from Lija to Naxxar.

In the accident, which happened at 2:30pm, the coach driver was trapped in his passenger seat due to the impact of the colision.

The police said the 38-year-old coach driver from Dingli suffered life threatening injuries after getting trapped in his vehicle following the collision with a truck that was being driven by a 46-year-old man from Mtarfa.

Members of the Civil Protection Department freed the coach driver, who was later taken to hospital.
