Man, 35, charged with causing grievous and permanent injury

Melvin Abela, 35 of Zabbar, was granted bail earlier this morning after pleading not guilty to having caused grievous and permanent injuries to another man.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon in Haz-Zabbar. Abela was accused of threatening the victim and of breaching public peace.

Pleading not guilty, Abela was granted bail under the normal conditions.

Inspector Sylvana Briffa led the prosecution.
