Birthday boy ends up in court

Anthony Camilleri, 27 from Sliema, ended up being interrogated by the police early yesterday morning after a night spent celebrating his birthday turned to be wilder than usual.

Excessive drinking led a drunk Camilleri to damage six cars, three motorbikes, two front porches and a shop window.

Police said Camilleri was on his way home when he scratched the cars and pushed the motorbikes to the ground.

He was also charged with threatening police officers stationed in Sliema.

Camilleri pleaded guilty to all charges, promising he would pay for the damage he had caused even though he was unemployed.

The case was deferred to a later date as Magistrate Audrey Demicoli ordered to be supplied with the full estimate of the damage caused by Camilleri.
