Remanded in custody on break-in and thefts

Accused pleads not guilty and remanded in custody.

Christopher Sammut, 41, from Lija, was arraigned in court by Inspector Geoffrey Azzopardi on charges of theft.

Sammut was accused of stealing cash from the store Fino Ferramenta on the night of March 29 and between April 6 and April 8, as well as from other places, damaging the properties he broke into. He was also charged with stealing three laptops from Antrima Brand International, damaging the outlet and relapsing.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and Magistrate Doreen Clarke remanded Sammut in custody.
