A man working near the Salini saltpans has died after he was run over by a dumper.

Paul Borg, 69 of Hamrun, has died while carrying out restoration works near the Salini saltpans.
According to sources, the man was working with a dumper when he fell off the vehicle, used to carry bulk material. Sources said the man was crushed to death by the dumper.
Despite efforts of the Civil Protection Department officers to lift the dumper and release him from under the dumper's caterpillar tracks, Borg succumbed to his injuries.
Police Inspector Elton Taliana is leading the investigation while the inquiry is being led by Magistrate Neville Camilleri.
