The Cabinet has approved the nomination of Magistrate Antonio Mizzi to serve as judge while lawyers Aaron Bugeja and Charmaine Galea will join the judiciary as magistrates.

The three will be taking their Oath of Office tomorrow morning at The Palace.

In a statement issued this evening, the government said it wanted to fill the posts left vacant by the resignation of a judge in December and the retirement of a magistrate in February.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi has indeed waited far to long for this crucial, appointment to a judge when we all knew how desperate we required more judges to deal with the work overload. Congratulations for your new well deserved appointment it seems that sometimes justice does seem to prevail despite the fact of all the obstacles faced not to effect any changes by the previous administration.
